Yuurei

“Yuurei” (or ghost) literally means dim/hazy/faint spirit. Yuurei is a sprit of the dead who remain among the living for a specific purpose, usually to seek vengeance. “Yokai” (or demon) literally means “bewitched apparition”. Yokai encompasses a wide spectrum of ghouls, goblins and monsters-some frightening, some amusing, and many bizarre. Yokai have supernatural powers; but they also have the magical ability to affect natural phenomena. According to Japanese beliefs, some yokai are at the roots of all disasters, both natural and man-made.
